The UOB Heartbeat programme represents UOB’s commitment to the communities that we operate in. UOB Heartbeat is a multi-faceted Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on children’s welfare, education and the arts. The programme, with its flagship UOB Heartbeat Run event, unites employees, customers and communities to create meaningful change through fundraising and volunteer efforts.
Since its official establishment in 2007, the annual UOB Heartbeat Run has raised over S$20 million to support communities across 18 markets where UOB has a presence. The programme supports various charities, helping fund educational programmes, healthcare services and inclusive support for people with disabilities.
The UOB Heartbeat Run is held simultaneously in multiple markets, gathering thousands of participants. These events foster a shared sense of purpose, connecting UOB employees, partners and beneficiaries through volunteerism, community events and sustainable practices.
In the 2024 Singapore event, UOB promoted environmental awareness through e-waste recycling drives, ensuring our event t-shirt and race medals are made from recycled material, and having educational environment-themed booths and workshops.
Our commitment to community service extends further through initiatives like Project V, a national corporate volunteerism pilot, where our volunteers mentor young children. By embracing sustainable philanthropy and employee-driven volunteerism, we have made community service an integral part of our corporate culture.
