1) What are the new enhancements for InsureCruise?

As of Feb 2025, InsureCruise has been enhanced to include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Added Cruise Cancellation cover
  • Added Overseas Medical Expenses cover due to illness or injury
  • Special extended to cover all activities onboard the cruise and organised by the cruise operator such as land tour

InsureCruise is a customised travel insurance policy that offer benefits and coverage based on Cruise travel needs. This plan helps to avoid customers paying for benefits that doesn’t require for a Cruise trip such as ‘rental vehicle excess’ or ‘flight misconnection’. Offering insurance based on the travel requirements.

You must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident living in Singapore, or hold a valid Employment Pass, Work Permit, Dependent Pass or Long-Term Visit Pass to work or stay in Singapore. Your trip must start and end in Singapore.

A Family Plan covers you and/or your legal spouse with any number of your children travelling together for the entire Trip.

On the start date of the policy, your child must not be married nor employed, and must be 18 years old and below, or 23 years old and below if studying full-time in a recognised institute of higher learning.

You must be between 18 and 80 years old to purchase InsureCruise

You must buy InsureCruise before you leave Singapore. If you purchase InsureCruise after you leave Singapore, the insurance contract will be void, i.e., there will be no insurance cover.

For a Single Trip policy, we will refund the premium paid less a minimum premium of $25 per insured person for Individual Plan and $25 per Family Plan. We will not refund any amount less than $10.

For each trip, cover commences once you leave your residence or business in Singapore to begin the trip and lasts until you return to your place of residence or business in Singapore, or the expiry of the Certificate of Insurance (whichever is earlier). Trip Cancellation cover starts 30 days from the scheduled departure date.

You may submit your claim form and supporting documents to our appointed claims handling agent, Broadspire by Crawford & Company at travel-uoi@broadspire.asia. You may also contact them at (+65) 6632 8639 during their business hours. All claims must be filed no later than 31 days after expiry of the insurance policy.

These policies are protected under the Policy Owners' Protection Scheme which is administered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC). Coverage for these policies are automatic and no further action is required from you. For more information on the types of benefits that are covered under the scheme as well as the limits of coverage, where applicable, please contact your insurer or visit the General Insurance Association (GIA) or SDIC websites (www.gia.org.sg or www.sdic.org.sg).
