For the 43rd UOB Painting of the Year launch, we are excited to serve up a refreshing way of art appreciation. From May 2024 onwards, enjoy an ‘edible art’ feast that is inspired by artworks from UOB Painting of the Year artists and conceived by award-winning chefs from respective Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) restaurants.

Respective edible art offerings may be subjected to restaurant's availability and blackout dates. A portion of all menu proceeds will go to support local charity, ART:DIS (Arts and Disability) Singapore to empower artists with disabilities to develop professional careers in the arts.
Pan Pacific Singapore x Valerie Ng
Pacific Emporium

This high tea set is inspired by “Wild Flow Series” from UOB Painting of the Year (POY) artist, Valerie Ng. The two-time award winner who attended the Slade Summer School of Art, UK, was a finalist in the 2019 Sovereign Asian Art Prize in Hong Kong and has held several solo and group exhibitions.
Working on her inspiration is executive chef, Andy Oh, with over 30 years of culinary experience. The food artist has a slew of international awards and sits on the panel of the prestigious World Association of Chefs Societies. Along with pastry chef Kelvin Kan, they have co-created vibrant hues and intricate patterns of Valerie’s artworks with an artistry of fresh flowers, tropical fruits, and exotic spices converge to create a symphony of flavours.

Pan Pacific Orchard x David Chan
Mosella Restaurant

Mosella’s plated art dessert is inspired by David Chan’s winning UOB POY artwork, “The Grand History”. The full-time artist and arts educator at National Institute of Education and National Technological University has exhibited widely and most known for his works that were exhibited at ART SG in January 2024.
Collaborating with him is executive chef Pedro Samper, a passionate culinary professional with over 20 years of experience in luxury hotels and across Michelin-Star restaurants. Along with pastry chef Eunice Low, they have crafted and captured the essence of Chan's vibrant and chaotic masterpiece with multi-coloured elements and a bold interplay of sharp flavours to create a journey of taste that reflects the transition from chaos to balance in his artwork.

PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering x Shen Jiaqi

Buffet lunch on 9 and 10 August, and buffet dinner on 8 to 10 August
Desserts at the respective lunch and dinner buffet are inspired by “Sustenance” by UOB POY artist, Shen Jiaqi. The artwork spotlights women in workforce in an old biscuit and confectionary factory. Her works have been part of Singapore’ public showcases including ART SG and Louis Vuitton’s Art event. Internationally, Jiaqi has shown in London, Beijing, and Jakarta.
Executive chef Alvin Leong might be a familiar face with his frequent appearances on local culinary television programs. With over 20 years of culinary experience, he specialises in Asian, Straits, Peranakan, Cantonese, and European cuisine. Co-created by pastry chef, Stanley Mak as well, keep your eyes peeled for desserts that might just transport you back to your cherished childhood days!

Enjoy an afternoon high tea set inspired by “Burgeon” from UOB POY artist, Andrew Huang. Andrew graduated from School of the Arts and is a strong advocate in championing social causes through Chinese Ink painting. He raises funds for local charities like NKF and The Business Times Budding Artists Fund.
Executive chef Vincent Aw has more than 10 years of culinary experience working alongside culinary legends in top-notched hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants. Together with executive sous chef, Marcus Tan, they have co-created a delightful high tea set of delectable treats and local flavours to celebrate Singapore’s rich heritage.

Enjoy dim sum and some main menu offering inspired by “Cloud Tapestry” from UOB POY artist, Leo Liu. The full-time artist has held solo exhibitions widely and participated in international art fairs, such as ART STAGE Singapore, Art Taipei and Art Central Hong Kong.
Turning his art into edible food art is executive chef Hoo Chee Keong with more than 20 years of culinary experience. His insistence on enhancing traditional flavours through refined techniques and thoughtful presentations has won him respect and awards.
Sichuan is home to wild pandas. Find out what Chef Hoo has in his sleeves to pay a charming tribute to the central figure of the artwork.

Enjoy an afternoon tea set inspired by “In A Kiyokawa Calm” from UOB POY artist, Nurul Afiqah. An art teacher and specialist at an international preschool in Singapore, her works play around with the subtlety of lines and is inspired by her travels.
Executive chef Chan Tuck Wai has more than 20 years of culinary experience and has cooked for various Heads of State and foreign delegates. Along with pastry chef Christopher Eng, they have incorporated ingredients grown from their hotel’s urban farm to highlight local flavours and an edible replica of the artwork.

All proceeds from the artwork auctions and a portion of the sale proceeds of the food art menus will go to ART:DIS. ART:DIS is a leading non-profit organisation dedicated to creating learning and livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities in the arts. Funds generated from this collaboration will be channelled into visual arts programmes organised by ART:DIS, to further empower artists with disabilities to develop professional careers in the arts.
